CBN Contributing Writer Paul Linzey

Paul Linzey is the interim Protestant Chapel Pastor at the U.S. Naval Academy, an adjunct professor of practical ministry at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and a mentor in their Doctor of Ministry program. An award-winning author, he has written articles for religious and military magazines, and served as an editor and writer for Life Publishers’ the Warriors Bible, which was published in 2014. In 2019 he wrote a book called WisdomBuilt Biblical Principles of Marriage. His second book, released in 2020, is titled Safest Place in Iraq, and is about his experience as a military chaplain in Iraq during the war. Linzey graduated from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA, with a major in biblical studies. He completed the Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary, the Doctor of Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Tampa. Linzey was a pastor before going into the Army chaplaincy. Retiring in 2015 at the rank of Colonel, he devotes his time to writing, mentoring, and teaching. Interests include music, digital photography, movies and theater, sports, and family. He and his wife have three adult sons, ten grandchildren, and a Beagle named Sophie. His theme Scripture is First Thessalonians 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were willing to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”
