Overcoming Unexpected Medical Challenges

Dee Dee, a single mother of three, only planned to be out of work for a few weeks after surgery. Then she had some unexpected complications.

Dee Dee recalled, “I was not progressing like I should have been and so that's when I knew, like, something is not right. I went back to the emergency room and that's when they found out that there was indefinite complications with my surgery and I had to go under the knife again.”

Instead of being out of work for three weeks like she had planned, Dee Dee’s recovery time turned into two and half months.

“I did not have financial stability to last me past the three weeks. That's all I prepared for and I have three kids to provide for, I’m a single mom, so I was very nervous. At that point, I uh had run out,” said Dee Dee.

The Kingdom Investing Outreach Center, a partner of Operation Blessing, was there to support her and her family during this difficult time of need.

Dee Dee exclaimed, “Kingdom Investment Outreach Center is amazing! When they dropped off the food to me, I cried. I cried and I got pretty emotional because it was just like God just being there and providing for you when you are in need. It was just such a blessing to me and my family.”

After her recovery, Dee Dee returned to work as a medical assistant. In her spare time, she’s back to doing the things she loves, leading worship at her church and spending time with her family. The help they received is something she’s grateful for every day.

“It feels absolutely awesome knowing that we are thriving again. They see a happy me again. They don't see, you know, the sick me or the sad me. They just see a bunch of joy and that's where I come from. I come from joy. So I love it,” said Dee Dee.

Thanks to the support of our partners, Dee Dee’s family received the help they needed when there was nowhere else to turn.

With great appreciation Dee Dee said, “To the people who are partnering with Operation Blessing, thank you. Your donations and your hearts, letting God lead you to provide food for us means the world for us. The food that you provide for us stabilized my family and it helped me get to a better place. So all I can say is just thank you.”
