Pray for America - Day 6
They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. —
DAY 6: "Radiance"
Have you ever seen a bride walking down the aisle with her eyes fixed on her soon-to-be husband? Her face is radiant with the love for her betrothed. Every step she takes moves her toward her beloved, solidifying her commitment to a future of hope and promise. The groom, full of expectation for the one he loves, stands tall and confident as he gazes upon his beautiful bride. At last the two meet, and together they speak their vows of commitment to God in front of family and friends.
We are the church, the bride of Christ, and He has betrothed Himself to us. With the promise of His righteousness and justice, He has equipped us mightily to be effective prayer warriors for America. He has also betrothed us His loving-kindness and mercy, providing us with everything we need to be distinguishable from the world in loving our neighbors. His faithfulness is betrothed to us to strengthen our belief that He is indeed in control of all things.
Let us unite in prayer for the restoration and strengthening of marriages across America. Let us also stand together as God’s church and fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Our radiance will be beacons of light to the world.
