Overcoming Dark Despair

Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia

Navy is a single mom raising three children. She’s been struggling to make ends meet ever since her husband abandoned the family. “I was so stressed,” she told CBN. “I even thought about suicide, just to end it all."

“I felt sad for my mom,” said her son, Pannhasak. I wanted to help her but did not know what to do. I help with the dishes and sweeping the house. And I study hard too,”

Then a local pastor connected her with CBN's Orphan’s Promise. First, we enrolled her children in an after-school program. Then we trained Navy how to start and run a business. “Then they gave everything I needed to prepare and sell food. Then they set up this café at my house. Now I am back on my feet! I make $300 to $350 dollars in profits a month, all thanks to Orphan’s Promise! I'm so grateful. I hope you can continue to help other single mothers like me!”
