Julie Lavender

Julie Lavender has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught public school before she became a stay-at-home mom and homeschooled her children for over twenty-five years. Her parenting book, 365 Ways To Love Your Child: Turning Little Moments Into Lasting Memories (Revell Publishers), releases soon. She is passionate about families and has prayed at length for the families whose lives will be touched by her book.

Julie and her husband David have two sons, two daughters, and one son-in-love. They were blessed with their first grandchild in December 2018.

Julie and her husband, a former entomologist for the United States Navy and a current wildlife biologist at an army base, traveled about the country with their kids as Uncle Sam directed for twenty years before returning to their hometown of Statesboro, Georgia. Julie writes for her local newspaper, the Statesboro Herald.

Julie’s recent publications include two books co-authored with Michelle Cox and published by BroadStreet Publishing: Come and Behold Him (2019), and Be Still and Take a Bubble Bath: 52 Calming Devotions for Women (2020). Her books also include 365 Days of Celebration and Praise, Creative Sleepovers for Kids, and three teacher resource books for Carson-Dellosa.

She has contributed to compilations such as Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts anthologies, Feed Your Soul with the Word of God, and Heart Renovation; and to magazines and blogs: The Upper Room, Clubhouse, Today’s Christian Woman, Focus on the Family, Mature Living, Country Woman, ParentLife, Taste of Home, and The Write Conversation.
