Cheryl Johnson

Cheryl Johnson is an English Instructor at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she has been a member of the English faculty since 2003. Before coming to Lamar University, Cheryl taught at colleges in Douglas, Georgia, and Gadsden, Alabama.  Cheryl Johnson is active in Hillcrest Baptist Church, where her husband is the Associate Pastor of Administration.

Cheryl Johnson is the author of the children’s book series, The Benny Book series, which is based on the escapades of the family’s miniature-dachshund, Bentley. The first book of the series, Benny Finds a Home, was published in December 2015. Cheryl and her husband Jim reside in Port Neches, Texas, with their daughter Holly, and their two dogs, Bama and Bentley. Their son Aaron and daughter Elise, along with their spouses, live nearby.
