Following a career in public education, Candyce reopened and directed the preschool learning center at her church. She then returned to school to earn a Masters in Professional Writing where she won the Outstanding Scholar Award. This work provided her the opportunity to combine a love of teaching and writing as she taught First Year Composition at Kennesaw State University.

Candyce has published articles in consumer magazines such as Working Mother, 1,001 Home Ideas, Vibrant Lift, Georgia Backroads, North State Parent, Valley Living, Baby Talk, Home Life, Living with Children, Marriage & Family, Marriage Partnership, and the Huffington Post. She’s contributed devotions to Reflections, The Quiet Hour, Good News Magazine, Refresh Magazine, and Christian Broadcasting Network. Chicken Soup for the Soul published one of her stories.

Additionally, she’s created curriculum and designed teaching units for Lifeway, The Education Center, Mailbox Magazine, Lollipops Magazine, Early Years, Momentum, and Good Apple.

Her work has won awards in Writers Digest competitions, the Writers-Editors Network Contest, the Southeastern Writers Contest, named a Midlife Collage winner and received the Robert Hill Award in Graduate Writing.

Candyce enjoys family life which includes three children and five grandchildren. Her husband of two years adds four daughters and seven grandkids to the mix.
