A Tale of Two Nations

CBN.com --This is not a fairy tale but a real live situation surrounding Israel and Lebanon. The war has intensified and the innocent have been caught in the crossfire.

It isn’t the desire of Israel or Lebanon to destroy lives. We must remember not to accuse one nation over the other. It is the cause of particular groups within each of these nations that are fighting without regard for their actions.

There will always be a choice few, a minority somewhere that chooses to fight about something. People fight with shouting when they don’t get their way and then sometimes the artillery breaks out, and it’s all about the “my rights” thing.

The sad thing is that no one really wins in a war. The hatred rears its ugly head, that’s all. I know there will be rumors of war and wars, the Bible clearly states it. War is unavoidable because man does not listen to God.

As I pray for the peace of Israel, I pray for the hearts in both nations to be turned to God. I ask that the innocent might be protected. In both places, there are Christians whose lives are in danger. There are also people who have not accepted the Lord, not to mention the little children.

Are the innocent ever protected? Need I mention the unborn, or the abused. Again, I ask who's listening? These precious ones sure don’t have a say in the matter. My cry is for all humanity, those who are suffering anywhere in the world. I know God’s cry is for the whole world not a group of people in lands that try and take charge.

God is Sovereign. This is His world that He owns, and we have failed to recognize that He only loaned it to us while we are alive on planet earth.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him would be saved and not perish but have eternal life ( , NIV)."

Never forget that we are to pray for our enemies. We never just pray for those whom we know and love. Jesus said love one another, not just your brother.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful ( , NIV)."

Someday the curtain will close to the final act on earth, and it looks like people are propelling that day to be closer at hand with all the fighting. It is only what we have done for Christ that will be important, not anything else.

Did we love with the love of God?  Will we remember the tale of two nations? Yes, life is a play and we are the players, and when it is all over some of us will say: “The world just didn’t get it did they?”
