Unexpected Conversion: Timo Finds Faith

11-year-old Timo was confused by his parents two religions. His dad was Muslim and his mom was Christian. At one point, he tried to practice Islam. “Dad told me to practice the Muslim daily prayer, but it was hard for me because I didn’t know how to do it.”

One day, Timo accepted an invitation to visit an after-school program supported by CBN’s Orphan’s Promise. There he received snacks and free tutoring. He also learned about the Bible from CBN’s Superbook. “I remember the first story was about David fighting Goliath. I liked when David stood bravely and was not afraid to fight Goliath, even though he was small. David believed that God was with him.”

Later, the episode where Jesus died on the cross finally grabbed Timo’s heart. He says, “I actually teared up when I saw that part of the story where Jesus got whipped, then carried His cross, and was finally crucified.” That day Timo prayed, “God, please forgive me for my sins.” He also prayed, “Jesus, I invite you to come into my heart to be my Lord and my Savior.”

Timo loves sharing Superbook stories with his family and prays that one day they will all go to church together. He says, “I am thankful to Jesus and to the people who gave us Superbook.”
