Kazakhstan government agents have prevented a prominent Christian television broadcaster from leaving the country to attend this year's National Religious Broadcaster's conference.
Bishop Maxim Maximov, head of Kazakhstan's New Life churches and founder of Russian language CNL-TV, will miss this year's event.
Maximov said government agents removed him and his wife from a U.S.-bound airplane and then placed them in detention.
Kazakh Christians say Maximov's treatment is just another example of growing government restrictions against religious freedom in their country.
Maximov published his testimony on Charisma Media and posted his picture on Facebook.
