ISIS has received millions of dollars in ransom money in exchange for more than 200 Assyrian Christians taken captive last February.

According to Christian officials on the ground, the last of the 230 hostages, mostly women and children, are finally being released.

The Assyrian Democratic Organization reported that the 43 remaining captives were released Monday after not speaking to their loved ones for a year.

The Islamic State terrorists originally demanded $18 million in ransom, but after months of negotiating, lowered their expectations.

The released hostages have taken refuge in the town of Tal Tamr in northeastern Syria, not far from the villages from which they were kidnapped last year.

According to a Newsweek report, the terrorists received $100,000 in ransom money for each kidnapped Christian.
