Woman Reunited with Family 10 Yrs. after Abduction

Ten years after being kidnapped and forced to wed her abductor, a California woman is now free.

Police said 41-year-old Isidro Garcia of Bell Gardens, California, drugged and kidnapped his girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter in 2004.
    
Garcia allegedly raped the girl and beat her after she tried to escape. He later forced the girl to marry him and even had a baby with her.
    
The woman, who is now 25, contacted police after finding her sister on Facebook.
    
Authorities said the girl stayed with Garcia out of fear and endured years of physical and mental abuse.
    
Garcia has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping for rape and false imprisonment.
    
Meanwhile, neighbors said they are stunned because the the couple appeared to live a normal happy life.

"It's just devastating to know that such a person could live right at your door your doorstep," neighbor Annette Anderson said.

"Just never think that it would happen this close especially that we live by the police department," another neighbor, Linda Molina, said.

The woman has now been reunited with her family.
