Superbook Transforms Young Mischief Maker
Abhishek fought constantly, threw tantrums, and got kicked out of school for bad behavior.
Abhishek’s mother, Reena, explained, “Many neighbors and parents complained about him to me. I scolded him and so did his father, but his attitude did not change.”
Abhishek’s parents convinced him to go to an after-school program run by Orphan’s Promise. He learned arts-and-crafts, did group activities, and watched SuperBook.
Gloria, one of the teachers at the center, said, “I used the SuperBook stories to explain to Abhishek how his bad behavior could separate him from God. He gradually started taking interest in all the good lessons of the SuperBook series.”
Abhishek said, “I realized we should have faith in God, and we should also ask for forgiveness for our sins through prayer.”
Abhishek prayed with his teacher, and she asked God to protect him and bring out the good in him.
Reena said, “After this, he stopped getting in trouble in school, and started focusing on his studies. He was an obedient child at home too.”
Abhishek’s life was being transformed. He even bought himself a Bible and studied it intently.
“Abhishek told us about the Bible stories and showed us the SuperBook episodes at home,” said Reena. “He always prayed for the healing when I fell sick, and his prayers were always answered.”
Abhishek said, “I explained to my parents about the miracles of Jesus Christ from SuperBook and the Bible. Jesus gave sight to the blind, healed the crippled and raised people from death. Gradually, my parents started believing in Jesus Christ.”
Reena said, “Seeing this great change in Abhishek, even I was influenced by the love of God. Me and my family have now accepted Jesus Christ.”
Parents in his community no longer see Abhishek as a mischief-maker. Instead they see him as a positive influence on their children.
Abhishek said, “I love telling people about Jesus. I am forever grateful to CBN and SuperBook for giving me a new life, a life filled with purpose and peace.”
