Finding the Love of Jesus Through a Cartoon

6-year old Raya was born into a Muslim family in Indonesia. But she said she didn’t really understand what that meant.

“I was never taught about my religion,” said the young girl. And I never learned how to do daily Muslim prayers.”

Raya went to live with her aunt after her parents abandoned her. Her aunt, who had become a Christian, invited Raya to church. That’s where Raya watched CBN’s Superbook for the first time.

“When I went to Sunday school, I watched the episodes about Solomon and Esther. From those episodes I learned about love—that they both loved God and they loved their people.”

Later, she watched the story of Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus. “I saw that when he encountered Jesus, he repented,” said Raya.

Raya prayed to become a Christian after that episode.

“I prayed, ‘Lord Jesus, today I invite you to come into my heart to be my Lord and my Savior.’ After that, I felt so happy because I knew that Jesus forgave my sins.”

Raya has already started inviting her friends to come and watch Superbook with her at Sunday School. “I love to share about Jesus and Superbook and I am grateful for all the people who support Superbook, because through it, I came to know Jesus. Thank you!”
