Bring It On: Is Jesus God?

Where did Jesus go when his earthly body died on the cross? Is Jesus God? If this is so, why wouldn't Jesus know of his own return? What do you say to someone who asks, '"Why does God allow terrible things like child abuse to happen to children?"
