Gospel recording artist Tahsa Cobbs Leonard has released a new music project titled "Heart. Passion. Pursuit."

And the immediate buzz surrounding the Grammy Award-winner's fourth album is her collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj. That new single is called "I'm Getting Ready."

Some of Tasha's fans and Christian leaders have criticized her decision to feature Minaj on the album.

Cobbs stands by her decision, noting that she has seen Minaj off stage and "Nicki has a great relationship with God."

She told Essence Magazine, "My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some have never experienced God ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves."

Cobbs says she has already heard from people with personal testimonies of feeling God for the first after hearing the song.

"This is not an assignment that man gave to me. This is an assignment that God gave to me, and He prepared the way for me, as only God could," Cobbs shared.

While some have criticized Cobbs, some have come out in support, including Pastor John Gray.

Christian comedian and actor Kevin Fredericks also used his platform to offer support for Tasha.

Fredericks said, "What's the point of making music, gospel music? So that many people can hear it and therefore hear about Jesus, right? Well, if Nicki Minaj is on your gospel song, and her fans are going to hear it, then I imagine a lot more people are going to hear about Jesus."

The project also features Tasha's pastor William Murphy, along with Christian artists Jimi Cravity, Kierra Sheard, Kim Walker, Matt Redman, and Jonas Myrin.
