'Light Has Already Overcome the Dark': Christian Worship Leader Cody Carnes Weighs in the Evil in This World

Cody Carnes is a worship leader, musician, and songwriter. He is also married to renowned Christian recording artist Kari Jobe.

"Studio 5" sat down with Carnes to hear the story behind his debut album, "The Darker the Night the Brighter the Morning."

The lengthy album title comes from a track on the project, "Hold it All," said Carnes. 

"John 1 tells us that light has already overcome the dark and the darkness can not extinguish it," he said. "The truth is that what Jesus did at the cross, it silenced and overcame darkness once and for all."

"We're living in a time right now where day to day it can seem like darkness is winning," said Carnes. 

He added, "It can seem like evil is rising up, it can seem like things are getting out of control, but truth is that it's already lost."

Carnes says the album is a "declaration of 'God I trust you'." He believes, "in declaring the faithfulness of God, you see the faithfulness of God."
