Names of Christ: The Way, The Truth, The Life
When I was a little girl, I went to church camp. It was one of the best weeks of my young life. And this is one of the first scriptures I remember memorizing:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (NLT)
In fact, I had a little card that I kept in my wallet that read, "Jesus is the way." You might say I was a card-carrying member of the Jesus fan club. But it was actually years later, in my late 20s, when I truly gave my heart to the Lord. After trying to do life my way, not very well, I was ready to let Jesus take the wheel. Best decision I ever made.
You know, Jesus also tells us in that verse that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Jesus, He paid the price for us—death on a cross—so that we could not only have eternal life, but a relationship with God the Father now, right here on earth.
Today, I want to encourage you to not just be a card-carrying member of the Jesus fan club like I once was. Give your whole heart to the Lord, because He really is the Way to the Father, the Truth that you're searching for, and the Life everlasting.
Merry Christmas!
