Francesca Battistelli's "If We're Honest": Music Review

Hannah Goodwyn

Share This article - Francesca Battistelli is a force in Christian music. Her GRAMMY® nomination, 6 Dove Awards, 22 Dove Award nominations and No. 1 records, My Paper Heart and Hundred More Years, attest to that.

Her new studio album, If We're Honest, only adds to her stronghold in Contemporary Christian music.

Battistelli co-wrote 10 of the 11 songs on the worship-filled album, which was produced by award-winning producer Ian Eskelin. The album's deluxe edition gives you four additional tunes: "Holy Spirit" (written by Bryan & Katie Torwalt), "Keeping Score," "I Am Home" and "Tonight (Feat. All Sons & Daughters)". Leading off is the album's first single "Write Your Story", a catchy song about being open to letting God direct our lives, write our stories.

All in all, If We’re Honest offers some real, heartfelt and deeply worshipful tunes that will soon become fan favorites. A few of the pop music-focused tracks are definitely reminiscent of Katy Perry. The improvement with this record is that you'll find a maturity in it, offering young listeners a good option on iTunes.

Album favorites: "I Am Home", "Choose To Love"
