Receive His Help!

CBN.com -- Have you ever felt like the stresses of life are too hard to handle on your own? I am here to tell you that your Heavenly Father wants each of you to give every concern you have about your life to Him.

Rest assure, God cares about the big and the small problems you face. He never expects you to go through an adverse situation alone.

says,

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes” (MSG).

There is a song that says “God’s got the whole world in His hands.” The same God, who carries the weight of the world, can also carry whatever is weighing you down. The weight of your problem is like a tiny grain of sand in His hands.

In my own life, I have learned the importance of leaning on the Lord. He has seen me through many seasons and, through it all, has always extended a helping hand. I can count on God and be confident in His faithfulness to sustain me.

Some of you are probably wondering, “How can I place my trust in God, especially at times when I find myself under tremendous pressure and don't see how I can possibly go on another second?” That false assumption lies in thinking we have to assist God, while in reality, it is really He who stands ready to assist us.

God did not create human beings to lug around heavy baggage. He created us to have dependence upon Him.

According to ,

“Blessed be the Lord, Who bears my burdens and carries me day by day, even the God who is my salvation” (AMP).

Jesus is the One who makes us able to achieve the impossible and climb to new heights that seem like daunting places to reach.

Therefore, the reason I can have assurance in God’s faithfulness is because He has shown Himself strong in the past and will continue to do so in the future. The simplest way for you and I to release the weight of things is to openly express to God our need for His help.

Then we must allow the Lord in His wisdom to take care of everything else. It’s foolish for us to hold on when we should always closely follow the example of which says,

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you” (NLT).

In difficult and troubled times, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, He will help us to get up again (See ). Consider all professional boxers who have fallen down on the mat after being knocked around by their opponent. The referee immediately runs over and begins counting, “One! Two!Three! Four!”

If the boxer is not back on his feet by the count of ten, he’s out and looses the match. Being the fighter that professional boxers are, they won’t stay down for the count. They’ll use whatever amount of strength they have left to get up and start fighting again.

On more than one occasion, I’ve literally felt like giving up and throwing in the towel after allowing the enemy to hit me with his one-two punch. By casually listening to the barrage of Satan’s propaganda, I can almost begin to buy into the lies.

But, thankfully, with experience I know how to counter his attacks with God’s Word. As I’m hearing the enemy’s negative perspective, a spiritual switch goes off inside of me and I begin to think to myself, “Wait a minute here! No Satan, you will not twist this around to make it look like an impossible situation.”

I remind him that, “God gives me the victory [making me a conqueror] through my Lord Jesus Christ” ( , AMP). And, “When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me” ( , NKJV).

Things will disappoint you, and people will disappoint you. But, God will never disappoint you. He sends forth well-timed help, coming just when you need it (See , AMP). So, next time you’re feeling beaten down remember that God is on your side! Satan does not have the authority to defeat you in victory.
