Names of Christ: Lord of Lords

One of the names of Jesus, as laid out in Scripture (powerful descriptor, indeed) is Lord of Lords.

“But the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him” ( NLT).

He is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.

What does this speak to our current reality? We live in a world full of moral relativism, spiritual apathy, cultural decadence, and ecclesiastical lukewarmness. We live in a world filled with a plethora of ideologies and social constructs, attempting to reign over our family, attempting to reign over the next generation.

But here’s the great news: There is a Lord above every other lord. There is a King above every other king. There is a Truth above every single sort of ideology or philosophy. Jesus is the Lord of all lords. He is the King above every other king. And at the end of the day, in front of the Lord of Lords, He is over everyone and everything.

There’s not a Supreme Court ruling, an executive order, a legislative initiative, or a social media campaign that can dethrone the Lord of Lords or the King of Kings. That’s the promise of the Gospel.

So, let not your heart be troubled. Because we serve the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, we know for certain that the best is yet to come!

With the strength of the Father, of the grace of the Son, and the anointing of God’s precious Holy Spirit, make this season the best season of your life. And let’s do one thing together: Let’s go change the world.
