Blessing Those Who Serve America

E 4 Specialist Cooper is proud to serve in the U.S. Army. Cooper says, “It felt more like a calling. It really teaches you so much about discipline. It just helps you grow up in a way.”

His wife Alexis appreciates his dedication to his country and his family. Alexis explains, “I’m very proud of him. He works hard to provide for our family and make sure we're happy and healthy and make sure we have everything that we need."

Alexis admits being an Army wife has its challenges. The toughest was when Cooper deployed for nine months just four weeks after their wedding. Her faith played a big part in getting her through the months alone as a new bride. Alexis says, “Praying for him over there and making sure he was safe.”

Soon after Cooper returned, the couple became a family of three with the arrival of their daughter. Life was good—until their financial situation took a blow when Alexis’ car broke down. They couldn’t afford the $1,800 in repairs…leaving them with Cooper’s old, unreliable truck as their only transportation. They knew it was just a matter of time before the truck broke down too.

Cooper explains, “I feel worried. We only have $300 in savings, there's no way we can get it fixed. It’s all around a really bad situation.”

Despite their predicament, the couple relied on their faith in God.

“I feel like he's got a plan,” says Cooper. He's got something going in the works for us. I don't know what it is. I don't know when it will happen. I'm hoping that it happens sometime soon. But I honestly do believe that in some way, shape or form, He's going to find some way of getting us out of it.”

The couple attends a local chapter of a military support organization called Cadence International who contacted Helping The Home Front about their situation. Leaders Dan and Charlotte invited them over to share some good news.

Charlotte begins, “CBN and Helping The Home Front, in conjunction with Cadence International, they found out about your car problems and they just wanted to come alongside you and alleviate some of your stress.”

Alexis replies, “Thank you.”

Dan continues, “We know that this burden of $1,800 is massive. So, we are so excited to share with you that CBN is going to pay for that. So, when you pick up your car, it’s gonna be paid for.”

Alexis exclaims, "Oh! That’s amazing!”

Cooper asks Alexis, “Are you good?”

Alexis answers, “Yea! I was not expecting that.”

Dan continues, “There’s more. Helping The Home Front and Cadence wants to honor your service and support your family by replacing your truck with a reliable, used car. And there's a car dealership right now ready to take you guys in and help get you into a car so that you can have two reliable cars."

Alexis answers, “Thank you guys so much! I’m sorry. You guys can’t even imagine how this is helping our family and our future. I’m just so blessed.”

Cooper and Alexis headed to the car dealership, picked out a vehicle, and drove it home that day. They had Alexis’s car fixed too. Because of CBN partners, this military couple now has two safe vehicles without a huge financial burden.

Cooper concludes, “Helping the Home Front is such an amazing outreach program. Continue doing what you are doing! It's an amazing blessing that y'all have given my family.”
